I try to make birthdays really special around here. One of the things I do is make stand-out cakes. The kids give me all sorts of requests and these are some of the best.
Girl's Cake - When they're young, my kids aren't too specific. Roo said she wanted a pink cake so she got a pink cake.
Old-time Red Sox Jersey - With two baseball players and two birthdays, it was fun to see both their names on a Red Sox jersey.
Hand-painted Minion cake - This one took a full afternoon to paint with food coloring and frosting.
Chocolate cake with chocolate mousse - For the older crowd, this cake is rich and lovely and not to hard to make.
