Lion cupcakes


I was teaching the kids about Daniel and the Lion's Den and used these cupcakes to reinforce the concept. They were a huge hit. Looking at them now, I think I would have done yellow frosting for the face and chocolate for the mane. But overall, for a quick Monday night treat - they don't look too bad.

1. Bake cupcakes according to package directions. Let cool.
2. Frost. Immediately dip the cupcake in brown sugar. (This gives the lion a lighter face.)
3. Use butterscotch chips for the eyes and a semi-sweet chip for the nose. Just press them into the frosting so they stay.
4. Using a small round tip, add the line to the eyes and draw the smile.
Switch to a star tip and pipe a messy mane. (Squeeze and pull. Squeeze and pull.)
5. Eat your lion's share:-)
