Oh-oh-oh-Oreo Suckers

Rub’s preschool class was covering the letter “O” this week. I could not come up with a darn thing at our house that starts with “O” for show and tell. So we whipped up a batch of these Oreo suckers adorned with the spotlight letter.

These treats are so easy to make.
First, you have to buy double-stuffed cookies. The other kind just don’t have enough innards to hold a stick.

Second, select and carry your package with care; broken cookies make ugly suckers.

Third, only eat one non-dipped cookie; they are so much better once they are dipped that you’ll actually be mad at yourself for eating them beforehand.

The best part was listening to Rub practice the Oreo song. "Ice cold milk and an Oreo cookie..."

What you’ll need:
1 bag of double-stuffed Oreos
Sucker sticks
1 bag of candy melts
Wax paper
Decorations

Step one: Insert sucker stick 3/4 of the way through the cookie’s circumference. (Big word bonus.)
Step two: Put skewered cookies in the fridge to harden.
Step three: Melt your candy melts according to package directions.
Step four: Dip each cookie sucker in the chocolate, tap off the excess chocolate, and place on a sheet of wax paper.
Step four: Add decoration. Here we made “O’s” out of white chocolate, but you can also add festive sprinkles or drizzles.
Step 5: Allow to set. (You can speed this process up by placing the suckers in the fridge. Unlike regular chocolate, which needs to me tempered, candy melts will not bloom, or turn white, if they cool quickly.)
